A data caching method and a storage device. The data caching method is applied to the storage device. The storage device comprises a source agent and a target agent. The method comprises: the source agent sending a data acquisition request to the target agent (101); the source agent receiving the target data returned by the target agent and corresponding to the data acquisition request (102); the source agent determining whether or not a listening request for the target data, sent by the target agent, is received between sending the data acquisition request and receiving the target data (103), the listening request indicating that the target agent is simultaneously processing other acquisition requests for the target data sent from other source agents; and the source agent abandoning the target data if the listening request is received (104), and the source agent saving the target data if the listening request is not received (105). In the case that the order of message reception is not strictly controlled or an Acknowledgement (ACK) message is not additionally added, the method can solve the problem of conflict in cache consistency, thus improving the efficiency of data processing.
