PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shift to a four-wheel-drive state reliably in a case where a main drive wheel is slipping when there is a request for engaging a meshing-clutch.SOLUTION: In a clutch control apparatus for a four-wheel-drive vehicle incorporating an electrical-controlled coupling 12 and a dog clutch 17 in a drive force transmission system to left-right rear wheels 20, 21, a 4-WD control unit 34 is disposed for engagement-release control of both the electrical-controlled coupling 12 and dog clutch 17. In the apparatus, the 4-WD control unit 34 further performs: engagement control of the electrical-controlled coupling 12 first when there is a request for engaging the dog clutch 17 in a release state; and reducing engagement torque of the electrical-controlled coupling 12 in a case where a differential clutch rotation speed &Dgr;N of the dog clutch 17 decreases while performing the engagement control of the electrical-controlled coupling 12, with the differential clutch rotation speed &Dgr;N determined to be lower than a differential rotation speed range (α≥&Dgr;N≥-α) of a rotational synchronization determination. |
