PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method of previous detection of membrane fouling which perform previous detection of membrane fouling of a separation membrane and thereby enable adequate maintenance and management of the operation status of an active sludge apparatus.SOLUTION: A membrane fouling previous detection system includes a membrane separation active slude apparatus which is introduced with waste water and active sludge and has a membrane separation tank arranged with a separation membrane for solid-liquid separation of active sludge, waste water and treated water and a detector which can detect an abundance of microorganisms showing a 97% or more homology in base sequence of the 16rRNA gene with the base sequence shown in the sequence No. 1, from the active sludge in the membrane separation active sludge apparatus.
