A connection fitting (10) including a tubular body (18), a first end of the tubular body being provided with means (22) for connection to a plumbing piece, the second end of the tubular body being insertable into or receivable within the bore (40) of a second plumbing piece (30), the tubular body being provided with a circumferential channel (24) and a plurality of recesses (26) opening into said circumferential channel and spaced at regular intervals around said circumferential channel, said circumferential channel (24) and recesses (26) being capable of interacting with retaining means (32, 48) provided in or on the second plumbing piece (30), said retaining means (32, 48) being spaced at regular intervals around the circumference of said second plumbing piece (30) corresponding to the spacing of the plurality of recesses (26) around said circumferential channel (24), and biasing means (42) opposing insertion of said connection fitting into the bore of the second plumbing piece (30). |
