A display device (100) comprising: a display panel (1) which assumes a transparent display state in which the background can be seen through; a panel light source (3) which irradiates the display panel by time division with coloured light of a plurality of colours; a rear light source (2) disposed at the back surface side of the display panel, said rear light source emitting coloured light of a plurality of colours by time division; and a control circuit which controls the emission timing of the coloured light emitted from the panel light source and the rear light source. The panel light source and the rear light source are synchronised by the control circuit in a manner such that coloured light of different colours is not emitted at the same timing. |
