A control method and apparatus of a terminal device, and the terminal device, are provided. The method is used for the terminal device and includes: obtaining infrared sensor information of a human body in a target area; based on the infrared sensor information of the human body, determining whether a person exists in the target area and obtaining a first determination result; when the first determination result indicates that nobody exists in the target area, controlling the terminal device to be in a protected state; when the first determination result indicates that a person exists in the target area, and the terminal device is in a protected state, releasing the protected state of the terminal device. |
