A method for controlling engine combustion robustness by engine combustion robustness estimation according to the present invention comprises the steps of: selecting raw vibration detected in an engine (100) during the operation of the engine (100), in which combustion is controlled by a controller (10); calculating an MFB50 estimation value and a Pmax estimation value by extracting a specific frequency band from the selected raw vibration; adjusting spray variable mapping applied to the engine (100); allowing the MFB50 estimation value to follow an MFB50 target value for controlling the generation position of MFB50 (mass fraction burned 50%) using the adjusted value of the spray variable mapping; and allowing the Pmax estimation value to follow a Pmax target value for controlling maximal pressure formed in a cylinder. Therefore, the robustness of the engine can be controlled with respect to disturbance conditions such as environment, used fuel difference, and engine aging. Particularly, the configuration of an engine system for controlling engine combustion robustness is built at low costs as no expensive pressure sensors for detecting combustion pressure in a combustion chamber are applied. |
