1,150,846. Spreader frames for lifting containers. BYGGNADSAKTIEBOLAGET PAUL ANDERSON. 13 June, 1967 [15 June, 1966], No. 27229/67. Heading B8H. So that the suspension point 12, Fig. 2, of a container lifting frame can be adjusted to lie vertically above the centre of gravity of the container, it is slidably mounted on an arm 6 which is rotatable within a circular track 5, the latter being attached by struts 4 to a rectangular portion of the lifting frame. The arm 6 and subsidiary arms 8 carry guide rollers 7, 9 at their respective ends. One of the rollers 7 is driven by a motor 14 mounted on the arm 6 by a bracket 13. A motor 17 drives the suspension point 12 along the arm 6 by either a screw and nut or a rack and pinion. In a second embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), an arm 6 is moved along parallel rails supported above the lifting frame instead of being rotated. In both embodiments the movements may be produced manually, either through cranking handles or directly. Fig. 5 shows the suspension point 12 attached to a link 19 with a suspension eye 20. Four struts 21 are provided with transducers 22 which control the motors 14, 17 to adjust the lifting frame to any predetermined attitude. |
