1. A method for facilitating an electronic transaction, the method comprising, at a device including a transceiver and a computer processor:
(a) electronically generating, by a first running process executed by the computer processor, a permissions request; (b) electronically receiving, by a second running process executed by the processor in communication with a permissions server, the permissions request generated by the first running process; (c) prompting a user of the device to authorize the requested permissions; (d) causing secure communication, by the second running process via the transceiver, of the received permissions request to the permissions server; (e) receiving, by the second running process from the permissions server via the transceiver, a facilitation token; (f) providing, by the second running process, the received facilitation token to the first running process; and (g) causing transmission, by the first running process via the transceiver, of the facilitation token to complete the electronic transaction.
