PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which has a monitoring ability and is capable of suppressing a rise in manufacturing cost.SOLUTION: A display device includes: a display section 3 having a screen 3a; an illuminance detection section 5 detecting illuminance in an ambient environment of the display section 3; and a control section having a monitor mode in which illuminance in an ambient environment is detected by the illuminance detection section 5 during the screen 3a is not displayed, and thereby whether or not a detection result of the illuminance detection section 5 is within a predetermined range is monitored. Thus, in a dark ambient environment such as night, abnormal conditions such as fire and the presence of an intruder having an electric lamp or the like can be easily found. |
