摘要 Approaches are described for managing content via an electronic device. In particular, various embodiments enable single-handed approaches to adjusting content provided by a computing device. For example, the computing device (e.g., a mobile phone) or other portable computing device can detect a touch-based gesture input (e.g., a tap and hold) on a display screen to activate a content control mode (e.g., a zoom control mode, a panning control mode, a volume control mode). As the device is moved relative to user of the device or some other reference point, the device can cause a zooming, panning, or audio function to be executed. In this way, as the user holds the device and tilts, rotates, or otherwise changes the orientation of the device, or as the user's relative position or orientation changes with respect to the device, the content can appear to be zoomed-in or zoomed-out on, panned, or otherwise adjusted based at least in part on the function executed.

A computing device, comprising: a display screen; a camera; a touch sensor configured to detect contact with the display screen; a computing device processor; and a memory device including instructions that, when executed by the computing device processor, cause the computing device to: display content on the display screen of the computing device;detect a touch-based gesture input on the touch sensor of the display screen corresponding to an area of interest of the content, the touch-based gesture input corresponding to contacting the area of interest and maintaining contact with the display screen;activate a content control mode to control a display of the content based at least in part on a position of the computing device relative to a viewer of the display screen;acquire an image using the camera of the computing device;analyze the image to determine a change in the position of the computing device; andlaterally shift the content displayed on the display screen based at least in part on the change in position of the computing device.
