Provided is a backlight unit which stably maintains an optical gap between a light guide plate and a light emitting diode. The backlight unit comprises: a printed circuit board; a plurality of light emitting diodes which are mounted on the printed circuit board; and at least one gap maintaining unit which protrudes more than the light emitting diodes as a portion of the printed circuit board is bent.
