PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reading accuracy of read means from being reduced due to ambient heat.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: printing means that performs printing operation of forming an image on a sheet to form a printed matter; read means which is mounted on the printing means to optically read a document image; and control means. The control means determines whether the printing operation and reading operation are simultaneously performed or not (S01). The control means acquires a signal indicating a temperature of the read means (S02), and determines whether the temperature of the read means has reached a first temperature reference value lower than a lower limit temperature where reading accuracy of the read means starts decreasing, on the basis of the acquired signal (S03). When operation determination and first temperature determination are affirmative, the control means controls at least printing operation so as to prevent the influence of ambient heat on the read means (S08). |
