Method and apparatus for removing tobacco (T) from cigarettes (2) having filters (2a, 2b), the cigarettes (2) being transported on a conveyor (3) with their axes transversal to the direction of transport (R), the method including perforating each cigarette (2) on the circumference of its tobacco part by perforating means (6, 6', 6") enabling introduction of a pressurized gaseous medium into the cigarette (2) in order to remove tobacco (T) therefrom. According to the invention each cigarette (2) is perforated in two distinct perforation points (N, N'), one of the perforation points (N, N') being located close to the filter (2a, 2b) of said cigarette (2), the pressurized gaseous medium being introduced into each cigarette (2) through at least one of the perforation points (N, N') during perforation, and the at least one of the perforation points (N, N') through which the pressurized gaseous medium is introduced is the one located close to the filter (2a, 2b) of said cigarette (2), and in that said filter (2a, 2b) is being blocked against falling out of said cigarette (2) during the introduction of the pressurized gaseous medium. |
