PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input system and a character input method which can efficiently perform an operation of character input in an information processor by using a portable terminal, and the information processor used for the character input system and the character input method.SOLUTION: A character input system 1 executes the steps of: transmitting operation notification to an information processor 20 when a portable terminal 10 detects an operation of shaking the portable terminal 10; and converting input characters input by a character input part when the information processor 20 receives the operation notification from the portable terminal 10.
