PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medical image reading support apparatus, method, and program capable of performing display for making it possible to recognize an abnormal part to be a lesion part differing from a residual part and grasp the degree of danger of the abnormal part at first glance.SOLUTION: A medical image reading support apparatus 1 for supporting reading of a medical image obtained by imaging a subject comprises: line segment length calculation means 22 for calculating a length of a line segment connecting two measurement reference positions designated on an image for reading; standard deviation calculation means 23 for identifying signal values of respective pixels existing on the line segment to calculate a standard deviation of the identified signal values; and line segment display means 24 for displaying the line segment with a color depending on a result of the calculation by the line segment length calculation means 22 and a result of the calculation by the standard deviation calculation means 23.
