[Problem] To ensure a salient pole ratio even during a high-load operation without increasing the body frame of a rotating electric machine. [Solution] A rotating electric machine (1) comprises a stator (2) and a rotor (3). The stator (2) has a stator iron core (5) equipped with a plurality of teeth (18) in which recess portions (32) are formed extending along the shaft direction from one end to the other end in the shaft direction. The teeth (18) each have a main body portion (18a) provided so as to project from a cylindrical yoke (15) toward the inner circumferential side and an enlarged width portion (18b) positioned at the inner circumferential side end of the main body portion (18a) and having a circumferential direction dimension more enlarged than the main body portion (18a). The recess portions (32) are formed on both side surfaces of the main body portion (18a) in the circumferential direction so as to lie at positions in the same radial direction.
