A biopsy system is provided with: an endoscope that comprises an insertion part provided with a channel and an actively curving part disposed in a part of the insertion part; and a treatment instrument. The treatment instrument comprises a sheath that can be inserted into the channel and a needle tube that is disposed within the sheath. The sheath comprises a distal cylinder part that includes the distal end of the sheath and a proximal cylinder part that is fixed to the proximal end of the distal cylinder part and has lower flexibility than the distal cylinder part. In a positional relationship where the distal end of the sheath protrudes from the distal end of the channel and thus can be optically observed by the endoscope, a connection part, said connection part being the boundary between the distal cylinder part and the proximal cylinder part, is positioned closer to the proximal side than the proximal end of the curving part. |
