An electrolysis device (41) is used in a heat pump water heater provided with a water heat exchanger (21) for heating water, and the electrolysis device is for removing scale components included in water. The electrolysis device (41) is provided with the following: a container (47) having a water inlet (43) and a water outlet (45); a plurality of electrodes (51, 52) disposed inside of the container (47); and a gas discharge part (70) provided at a position higher than the water outlet (45) and for preventing discharge of water from the inside of the container (47) to the outside thereof while allowing discharge of gas from the inside of the container (47) to the outside thereof.
