This endoscope has an observation mode switching means (42) for switching between multiple observation modes. The multiple observation modes include a dye-effective observation mode to enable acquisition of images in which a dye applied to a subject is readily visible and a dye-ineffective observation mode to enable acquisition of images in which the dye applied to the subject is essentially not visible.
