MANAGEMENT SERVER WHICH OUTPUTS FILE RELOCATION POLICY, AND STORAGE SYSTEM

A management server is connected to a storage apparatus and a file server. The storage apparatus has a memory device which is divided into pages having a certain capacity and which stores data in said pages. The file server manages in file units the data stored in the storage apparatus. The management server acquires the number of inputs/outputs per unit time to/from the pages in which the data constituting the files are stored, and compares a policy applied to the files with an input/output bias toward a portion of the data constituting said files. If the result of this comparison is that the policy applied to said files needs to be changed, the management server outputs the changed policy.
