[Also in Division G2] 4,6,6 - Trimethyl - 3 - thio - 1,6 - dihydro - astriazine - 3,5(2H,4H) - dione is prepared by reacting 4-methylthiosemicarbazide, acetic acid, potassium cyanide and acetone to give 1-(1<SP>1</SP>- cyano - 1<SP>1</SP> - methyl - ethyl) - 4 - methylthiosemicarbazide and heating the product with aqueous HCl followed by NH 4 OH. In a similar manner 1 - (1<SP>1</SP> - cyano - cyclohexyl) - 4 - methyl - thiosemicarbazide is prepared from cyclohexanone and used to produce 4-mefhyl-3-thio-1,2,4-triazospiro[5,5]undecane- 3,5 - dione. 1 - Phenyl- 4 - methyl - 3 - thio - 1,6 - dihydro - as - triazine- 3,5(2H,4H)-dione is prepared by reacting 1- phenyl-1-carbethoxymethyl hydrazine hydrochloride with ammonium carbonate and methyl isothiocyanate. 1 - Methyl - 4 - ethyl - 3 - thio- 1,6 - dihydro - as - triazine - 3,5 - (2H,4H)- dione is prepared similarly. |
