PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomaterial with which release of gallium is accurately adjusted in terms of a dosage and duration for the purpose of locally inhibiting activity of an osteoclast and strengthening a weak bone structure.SOLUTION: A galliated calcium phosphate biomaterial includes a gallium-doped phosphocalcic compound represented by compositional formula (I), a salt, a hydrate, and a mixture thereof. The biomaterial is obtained by a step (a) to bring calcium phosphate into contact with calcium carbonate in the presence of a gallium compound, a step (b) to produce the gallium-doped phosphocalcic compound by sintering the mixture, and a step (c) to recover the gallium-doped phosphocalcic compound, CaGa(PO)...(I)[0<x<1, preferably 0<x≤0.85]. |
