PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle network system and on-vehicle relay device for prohibiting an external device from detecting timeout even in a communication state in which the external device cannot receive a response message from an on-vehicle controller within a prescribed period after completing transmission of a request message.SOLUTION: A GW 2 starts a P2server timer corresponding to a communication path when transmitting a request message received from a diagnosis tool 9, 10 to an ECU 5, 6; and transmits a pending response to the diagnosis tool 9, 10 when the P2server timer has expired without receiving a response message from the ECU 5, 6. Thereby, the diagnosis tool 9, 10 can receive the response message from the ECU 5, 6 without the P2server timer expiring. |
