PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct oxidation type fuel battery that can prevent contamination of gas into circulation fuel and also prevent deterioration of MEA.SOLUTION: A direct oxidation type fuel battery system has a direct oxidation type fuel battery, and a recovery tank for recovering anode fluid containing gas components discharged from an anode. The recovery tank is disposed at an anode fluid recovery port at which the anode fluid is confluent with liquid in the recovery tank, a liquid feed-out port for feeding to the liquid in the recovery tank to the anode, and between the anode fluid recovery port and the liquid feed-out port, and has a gas contamination preventing member for preventing the gas components of the anode fluid from moving from the anode fluid recovery port to the liquid feed-out port and contaminating with the liquid fed out from the liquid feed-out port. The volume of the liquid in the recovery tank is controlled to be equal to a predetermined first lower limit value or more during at least one of a normal operation of the fuel battery system and a shutdown operation. The first lower limit value is set so that the anode fluid recovery port and the liquid feed-out port are located below the liquid level of the liquid in the recovery tank. |
