PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing feature detection device capable of detecting, as information to be used for user authentication, information that can be used to perform highly reliable authentication.SOLUTION: The writing feature detection device is provided with a signal output part, the signal output part comprising a sensing element that comprises a plurality of sensing elements 60 containing: a base material 62 formed of a pressure sensitive material having a characteristic in which conductance changes in accordance with an applied pressure; and conductive particles 63 dispersed in the base material 62. In the sensing element, the conductance of the sensing elements 60 corresponding to an input position of writing action increases along with the increase in pressure applied to the input position. The signal output part outputs a signal for detection that contains a signal corresponding to the magnitude of the conductance of each of the plurality of sensing elements 60 such that on the basis of the signal for detection, a writing locus indicating the input position of the writing action, and a writing pressure indicating the magnitude of the pressure applied to the input position are detected as information to be used for user authentication. |
