<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition capable of forming a molded article having high flame retardance and high mechanical properties while containing a flame retardant with low melting point glass. <P>SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition includes a matrix resin, low melting point glass, and inorganic filler other than the low melting glass. The proportion of the low melting glass to the 100 pts.mass of the matrix resin is in a range of 1-40 pts.mass. The proportion of the inorganic filler to the 100 pts.mass of the matrix resin is in a range of 1-40 pts.mass. The mass ratio of the low melting glass and the inorganic filler, i.e. the former relative to the latter, is in a range of 1:4-1:1.
