摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire grid polarizer having both of superior polarizing performance and light diffusing function; and to provide a method for manufacturing the wire grid polarizer. <P>SOLUTION: A wire grid polarizer according to the present invention includes a substrate 11, a resin layer 12 formed on the substrate 11, and a conductor 13 formed on the resin layer 12. The resin layer 12 includes an asperity structure formed by a bending process, or an asperity structure comprising a repeated structure formed by shrinkage such that a difference between a shrinkage ratio of the substrate 11 and a shrinkage ratio of the resin layer 12 becomes at least 0.5% or more. The asperity structure is characterized in that the maximum height thereof is within a range from 1μm to 1000μm, and an average interval between the crest and trough in the plane direction of the resin layer 12 is within a range from 3μm to 2000μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p>
