<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for sticking of a rubber strip, capable of stably and continuously sticking the rubber strip with high accuracy without increasing a worker's burden, even when a peripheral length changes greatly depending on the axial position of a former. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber strip sticking apparatus includes a control system for controlling the supply amount of the rubber strip to supply the rubber strip with a certain length from the rubber strip supply conveyor to the former, the certain length of the rubber strip being computed based on the rotating amount of the former detected by a first encoder mounted to the center axis of the former, and on a distance from the center of the former to the tip of a rubber strip supply conveyor, detected by a second encoder built in a moving mechanism for moving the rubber strip supply conveyor in a direction orthogonal to the axial direction of the former.
