Lightweight combined kerb drainage element

The combined kerb drainage unit 10 comprises an outer wall structure 100 and an inner wall structure 200, 300, the inner wall structure defining internal load bearing sections and at least one longitudinal drainage channel which communicates with one or more apertures situated in the front surface of the drainage element for allowing water to drain therethrough. The unit is preferably formed from recycled polymers and the inner and outer wall structures may be formed from different grades or type of material. The inner and outer wall structures may be connectable by a snap-fit design, heat staked, or may be hotplate, sonic or vibration welded. Opposing end sections of each unit are provided with interlocking elements and in use hydrophilic seals are used to facilitate a watertight seal. Also claimed is a method of laying a hollow combined kerb drainage element.
