522,867. Boats and jet propulsion apparatus. SARTORI, C. Jan. 12, 1939, No. 1073. Convention date, Jan. 24, 1938. [Classes 113 (ii) and 114] A hydroplane with jet propulsion apparatus has the jets disposed in the forward surface of a transverse trough in the bottom of the hull. A pump 2 takes water through forward inlet 4 and delivers by a divided duct 5 to jets 6 extending across the bottom and below an arched trough 8 at the rear of which is a step 9. The bottom may have a keel or be plain. The arched surface is disposed so that a certain amount of lift is obtained tending to keep the boat 1 horizontal at speeds.
|
