PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image of which the ununiformity occurring at an abrupt edge part is settled and an impression of resolution is maintained. SOLUTION: A color interpolation device includes: an interpolation processing part which generates a first interpolated image signal and a second interpolated image signal by performing a first interpolation processing and a second interpolation process respectively on the color image signal comprising a pixel having a missed color component; an evaluation value calculating part which calculates, for each pixel, an evaluation value for specifying a certain region that is an object of the first interpolation process; a region deciding part which decides a certain region based on the evaluation value; and the interpolation process deciding part which extracts an image signal of the specified region out of the first interpolated image signal while extracts an image signal of the region other than the specified region out of the second interpolated image signal, and then compositing the extracted image signals for generating a color image signal after interpolation.
