摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic electroluminescent element with high light-emitting efficiency and high intensity, which is driven at low voltage and can be enlarged in a wide area. SOLUTION: In the inorganic electroluminescent element having a light-emitting layer including a II-VI group compounds formed by a gas phase method between a pair of opposite electrodes, a line combining the pair of electrodes is constituted to intersect in the film-forming direction of the light-emitting layer including the II-VI group compounds. The current conduction can be performed in the substrate-surface direction so as to intersect with a grain boundary of the grain crystal of the II-VI group compounds at the time of application of electricity between two electrodes since two electrodes are arranged by sandwiching the II-VI group compounds with a polycrystal structure formed by grain crystals selectively oriented in the vertical direction of a substrate. Thus, current loss flowing in the grain-boundary direction of the selectively-oriented crystal of the II-VI group compound can be reduced, and its light-emitting efficiency can be improved.
