PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary chamber type gas engine capable of enhancing efficiency by advancing the ignition timing and preventing the occurrence of knocking. SOLUTION: The engine is equipped with a main combustion chamber (10), an auxiliary chamber (an auxiliary combustion chamber 20), intake ports (4A, 4B) for supplying fuel gas and air by communicating with the main combustion chamber (10), wherein a fuel gas injection mechanism (8) is arranged in the intake ports (4A, 4B). Fuel gas concentration in a region (a central region) in the vicinity of the tip (61) of the auxiliary chamber in the main combustion chamber (10) is decreased in an intake stroke.
