PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laser scanner having small number of components, in which heat radiation effect is excellent and centering and adjustment in an optical axis direction are possible, and to obtain an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The laser scanner includes: a laser diode 3; a collimator lens 6 which shapes the beam emitted from the laser diode 3; a heat radiation member 4 which holds the laser diode 3; and a holder 5 on which the heat radiation member 4 and the collimator lens 6 are fixed. The heat radiation member 4 is a substantially flat plate which has an extended form of the flange part 3a of the laser diode 3. The heat radiation member 4 and the holder 5 are arranged with a prescribed space T in the optical axis direction X, columnar resins 7 are arranged in the space T, and hardened after the position of the heat radiation member 4 holding the laser diode 3 is adjusted in three axis directions with respect to the holder 5.
