PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a sound output time from powering-on to audio output. SOLUTION: When a television receiver 1 is powered on, a broadcast signal processing section 12, an audio signal processing section 14 and a system controller 17 are powered on and the broadcast signal processing section 12 and the system controller 17 start activation. When activation is completed, the system controller 17 transmits a reset signal to the audio signal processing section 14. On the basis of the reset signal, the audio signal processing section 14 starts activation. The system controller 17 transmits to the audio signal processing section 14 various data such as an arithmetic program, arithmetic coefficient data and the like. The audio signal processing section 14 performs setting on the basis of the various data and its activation is completed. The broadcast signal processing section 14 performs sound output setting on the basis of sound output setting information and outputs audio by applying signal processing to an audio signal.
