Systems and methods for providing for the automatic instrument-based rapi d reprocessing of an intact extracorporeal circuit (14) for use in hemodialy sis. The system includes a manifold (56) with connectors (60, 62) for engagi ng a dialyzer (10) as well as venous and arterial blood lines. The manifold (56) is adapted to be moved from a dialysis machine (66) to a reuse instrume nt (72) without removing the dialyzer (10) and associated blood lines. The s ystem allows for reprocessing of the extracorporeal circuit (14) wherein pri or to the next treatment, there is no residual chemical disinfectant requiri ng testing, the extracorporeal circuit (14) is pre-primed, the levels in the bubble traps are set, and all of the required quality assurance tests are p erformed and recorded. |
