PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate motor torque to the vicinity of its ideal maximum value when determining acceleration impossibility.

SOLUTION: An induction motor driving device 90 includes a power converter 15 that drives an induction motor 16, a slip frequency calculating part 3 that calculates the slip frequency of the induction motor 16, a maximum torque generating slip calculating part 4 that calculates the maximum torque generating slip frequency to generate the maximum torque of the induction motor 16, and an acceleration decision part 5 that decides whether the acceleration of the induction motor 16 is possible. The acceleration decision part 5 decides it to be impossible of acceleration in case that a specified time passes with the slip frequency over the maximum torque generating slip frequency.
