PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection device capable of accurately discriminating whether or not an object is an object to be subjected to detection without increasing storage area and comparison processing volume. SOLUTION: A determination processing section 4 which compares an image of an object 1, which is output from a camera 2, and an image of the entire surrounding area stored in an entire surrounding area image storage section 3, and determines whether or not the image of the entire surrounding area includes an area related to the image of the object 1 is provided. If a determination result of the determination processing section 4 indicates that an area related to the image of the object is included, a detection-subject object recognition section 5 recognizes that the object 1 is an object subjected to be to detection.
