PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve multimedia data corresponding to a keyword specified by a user, and to retrieve multimedia data related to the multimedia data. SOLUTION: A retrieval server 20 accepts the input of a search string from a user terminal 10, retrieves a plurality of images corresponding to the search string, outputs retrieved images, accepts designation of at least one of the output images, obtains a related keyword corresponding to the designated image, and retrieves an image corresponding to a refined character string obtained by adding the related keyword to the search character string.
