PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical observation device which superposes an optional image on an object image so that an observer can observe the image without spoiling finder performance. SOLUTION: The optical observation device has an optical element 56 reflecting first wavelength region light 51 from an object and guiding it to an eyepiece part 57, and a light source 59-1 emitting second wavelength region light 70, and is provided with a wavelength selective optical film 56h which transmits the first wavelength region light and reflects the second wavelength region light in the optical element. The optical observation device superposes an image (information image) formed by the second wavelength region light reflected by the wavelength selective optical film on the object image formed by the first wavelength region light transmitted through the wavelength selective optical film, so as to enable the observer to observe the image through the eyepiece part.
