PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device capable of detecting an abnormal condition of a solenoid current with an inexpensive and simple structure, and stopping passing of the current to a solenoid upon the occurrence of abnormality. SOLUTION: A control unit 2 for controlling a fuel injection module 1 includes a current-carrying time calculating means for outputting a current-carrying time signal according to a fuel injection amount, a drive control means for controlling drive of the solenoid 3, a capacitor 9 for accumulating electric power from the solenoid 3, an electrical discharge control means for controlling electrical discharge of the capacitor 9, a current detecting resistance 11 for detecting the solenoid current, and a current abnormality detecting means for detecting the abnormal condition of the solenoid current. The current abnormality detecting means compares a first detected current value idet detected upon expiration of a prescribed time Tr from passing of the current to the solenoid 3 with a first prescribed current value i1, and it detects the abnormal condition and stops the passing of the current to the solenoid 3 when a condition with the first detected current value idet higher than the first prescribed current value i1 exceeds the prescribed number of times Nd.
