PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound fire-resistant building material which can exert fire resistance and water resistance even if a substrate of a main body is formed of a combustible material with low strength, has improved cracking resistance, flexing resistance, impact resistance, etc., and is suitably available for internal and external finishing such as a roof, internal and external walls, etc. of a building and a structure. SOLUTION: The compound fire-resistant building material 1 is formed of a combustible substrate 2 constituting a main body of the building material, and a layer of fireproof Portland cement 4 applied to a surface of the substrate 2 via a fireproof adhesive 3. Herein the fireproof Portland cement 4 is obtained by mixing a solid component with a liquid component. The solid component is prepared by blending a powder component containing lime, aggregate, a foaming agent for generating non-combustible gases upon heating, a char layer forming material for forming a char layer upon foaming under heating, and a coated char layer forming catalyst thinly coated with water-resistant resin and microencapsulated.
