PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having excellent durability and steering stability, and simultaneously having a reduced rolling resistance, especially a pneumatic tire for a passenger car. SOLUTION: The tire for the passenger car has a tread part comprising a cap rubber and a base rubber. The base rubber is a rubber composition obtained by compounding 5-80 pts.mass of a chitin fiber and/or thitosan fiber having≤100 nm of a fiber diameter D and≥5 of an aspect ratio represented by the ratio (L/D) of the fiber length L to the fiber diameter D relative to 100 pts.mass of a diene rubber.
