PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet post-processing apparatus which prevents a person's finger from erroneously entering a stapler by always narrowing a space between the upper surface of the sheet on a processing tray and a sheet guide to improve safety of a sheet post-processing apparatus, prevents the sheet from being bent, and stacks optional number of sheets by sequentially moving the sheet guide to the direction apart from the processing tray, and ensuring a predetermined space. SOLUTION: In the sheet post-processing apparatus, the sheet guide 19 disposed above the processing tray 12 which aligns stacked one or a plurality of sheets is moved so as to be spaced apart from or brought close to the processing tray by a sheet guide drive mechanisms (52, 56, 54), and drive-controls the sheet guide drive mechanism to adjust a space between the processing tray and the sheet guide on the basis of the number of sheets stacked or the thickness of a stack of the sheets.
