The present invention provides a door handle apparatus consisting of a handle, a lock housing, a transmission mechanism, and a locking mechanism. The handle is pivotally engaged with the lock housing. The locking mechanism is engaged with one end of the lock housing and the handle. When the handle is rotated, the locking mechanism makes relative sliding and movement about the handle. The transmission mechanism is engaged with the other end of the lock housing and moves relative to the locking mechanism. The locking mechanism has a burglar free locking piece that prevents the door handle apparatus from being disassembled without being unlocked by a key first. After the door handle is engaged with the transmission mechanism, the door handle is still rotatable and movable via the lock housing.
