An image photographing apparatus includes a main body including a lens unit, and a recording medium driving unit to drive a recording medium that records an image photographed through the lens unit, a recording medium cover openably attached to the main body of the image photographing apparatus to insert or to remove the recording medium to or from the recording medium driving unit, a locking unit to lock or unlock the recording medium cover, and a manual opening unit detachably attached to the main body of the image photographing apparatus to expose and allow the locking unit to be manually operated to remove the recording medium in a "no power" situation.
