[PROBLEMS] To tow and lay all kinds of cables in a cable laying route without such large intermittent slide (pulsation) to interfere with the laying only by traction force of a variable torque traction device placed on a cable outlet side of the route. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A guide member (4) for leading the cable (3) into the cable laying route (1) is placed on a cable inlet side (1A) of the route (1), while the variable torque traction device (6) capable of reinforcing the traction force to predetermined traction force without allowing the cable (3) to largely intermittently slide is placed on the cable outlet side (1B) of the route (1). The cable (3) passing through the guide member (4) is led into the laying route (1) via a leading wire (2) by the traction force. The traction force of the traction device is sequentially reinforced to the predetermined traction force depending on a drop in speed of the leading wire (2) after starting to lead the cable (3) with minimal quantity of the force. Thus, the cable (3) can be towed to the outlet side (1B) without allowing it to intermittently slide largely. |
