<p>The device (14) has a baffle element (32) displaceable against adjusting force. The element exerts lateral pressing force on outer line windings. The windings are wound or unwound during winding or unwinding movements, respectively. A line baffle is laid in an area between a front wall (56) and the windings. Lower and upper housing halves (40, 64) are provided around a wound reel. Distance of the housing halves to the reel is equal to line diameter, and larger such that overlapping of the windings is controlled.
