PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powdery/granular substance recovery device which efficiently stores a large amount of powdery/granular substance constituting developer such as toner and carrier, and also, suppresses the back flow of the powdery/granular substance even in the case vibration is applied. SOLUTION: The powdery/granular substance recovery device is provided with: a box type powdery/granular substance storage box with an inlet arranged near the top face, for the powdery/granular substance such as discharged toner constituting the developer; a powdery/granular substance shifting part arranged in the internal cavity of the storage box, and for shifting the substance put in through the inlet to a depth direction away from the inlet with a shifting capacity which is made larger as it comes near the inlet; and a partition plate for checking the substance back-flowing toward this side opposite to the depth direction.
